Fast Fabric Design
I’m getting ready to present a program to our modern quilt guild next month about designing fabric and I put together a really short video condensing the fabric design process down to about a minute as sort of an intro!

On a day when I’m feeling less than stellar – really tired since it’s already been a very long week, waking up to snow on the ground when I’m not the least bit ready for winter to reappear, and pain in my back from tweaking a muscle that I have no memory of tweaking – a delivery of my new fabrics makes me feel a whole lot better! My latest set of designs are inspired by the place of my birth, the land that I will always love and seems to be terribly under appreciated by those who do not call it home. Rolling fields of farmland, never ending wheat fields and sunflowers, much larger than life animals keeping watch over I-94, the world’s best Big Boy with the world’s best pizza burgers flying style with fries and gravy. Of course there’s a lot there that’s not on the fabric. However, as I was discussing with a fellow former North Dakotan, if I designed it according to most outsiders impressions there would only be a buffalo!

I love the days when my P.E.O. sisters from all over the country send me pictures of what they create with my chapter’s P.E.O. fabric! This crafty group stitched up oodles of tissue holders!
